STEP 1

Check prohibited practices

Some AI practices are banned under Article 5. If a system appears to fall into this route, stop and obtain specialist legal review.

STEP 2

Check high-risk routes

Assess regulated-product use under Annex I and sensitive use cases under Annex III, then consider the Article 6(3) filter.

STEP 3

Check transparency and GPAI

Chatbots, synthetic content and certain general-purpose AI models can trigger separate transparency or model-provider obligations.
